Distributed Application Engineer

Location: Palo Alto

Software Engineer

Location: Palo Alto

Developing the Cask Data Application Platform, CDAP, presents complex distributed computing challenges. You’ll have the opportunity to implement complex algorithms on the Hadoop/HBase/YARN/Twill stack. You’ll apply your knowledge of software design principles, systems programming, algorithms, data structures, Java and C/C++. You’ll also contribute to and work with the Open Source development community. The ideal candidate will be able to scope and frame undefined problems using intuition, common sense, relevant data, and strong academic knowledge of computer science (algorithms, data structures, etc.). You will be asked to lead the design and implementation of key features and components of the Cask platform.

Software Engineer - 002

Location: Palo Alto

Software Engineer position available with Cask Data, Inc. in Palo Alto, California. Responsibilities: Design, develop and test tools that visualize company’s proprietary data-crunching platform, including software applications that run on it, and data that flows through it. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, release, and maintenance. Use event driven programming and concurrent programming knowledge in order to build the next generation Application Server for company’s CDAP system, and solve tough problems in BigData space. Perform software code critical analysis. Design and develop elegant software solutions for solving complex problems. Apply knowledge of software design principles, system programming, algorithms, data structure, and other programming skills. Perform multi-process, distributed computing, software performance analysis, and optimization. Apply software design principles, systems programming, algorithms, data structures, Java and C/C++. Position requires a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, Computer Science or Software Engineering, plus two (2) years of experience in job offered. Professional experience must include: Advanced systems programming, including distributed programming and object-oriented programming; Multi-process, distributed computing; performance analysis and optimization; Hadoop; Java; and C++.
